Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It's what you say when you don't know what to say, according to Mary Poppins. So today, the day that should've been our first doctor's appointment. The day we should've seen our little one for the first time and heard that little heartbeat. Today when I don't know what to say, I will say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I will say it loudly. I will say it quietly to myself. I might even break out into song no matter who is around.
I'm struggling today. My pants don't fit, my back hurts, my emotions are running wild. But even in these times when things are changing, it's so comforting to know that God never does. He is the same today, tomorrow, forever. He is constant, unmoving, an anchor. That is more comfort and does me more good than Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. My hope is in the Lord and although earthly things will help me find humor in a situation, they are fleeting. True joy comes from God and him alone.
So tonight, if you happen to be at our local thrift store and you hear Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious being sung loudly and off key from behind the dressing room door, don't fear. It's just me on the hunt for new pants.
