It’s raining.
It’s one of those perfect rains that lull you to sleep or in my case, causes you turn the a/c off and open the windows.
I love the rain.
I love the sound of rain. The smell of rain. Rain gives me opportunity to wear my rain boots. It gives me opportunity to splash in puddles with the 3-year-old and the chance to forget all life’s troubles momentarily.
Most of all, it reminds me that God provides. Just like that perfectly timed summer shower, God gives us what we need right when we need it. That can be an encouraging word, a skilled and caring medical professional, a box of chocolate...whatever the need, God will supply.
Yesterday, I headed to see my surgeon once again. She was going to attempt to get out that pesky stitch. I was pretty nervous. Last time she tried, it was beyond uncomfortable. This time, I wasn’t sure that would be different.
I waited in the exam room for quite awhile. I know some people dislike waiting. I don’t especially when Miss A is not with me. It gives me some much needed quiet time. I used this tome yesterday to pray that things would go smoothly and I wouldn’t have to go to OR for one little stitch.
Finally, doc came in and said, “I think we should just do this in OR.” She must’ve seen the look on my face because she quickly followed that with, “or we can just try right now”.
Amazingly, (why is it I’m amazed when I see the Lord at work?) I only had mild discomfort and that booger of a stitch had already come out! In fact, Doc said, “I’ll thank the Lord for that one”
Rain.
Just when you need it.
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
