This morning Facebook was full of “back to school” posts. Some of those were joyful. Some were bittersweet. The common denominator among all of them is “things change”.
Our littles will be kindergarteners before we know it. Our tweens will soon be high schoolers. Our high schoolers will soon be entering college or the work force ending our days of the “back-to-school frenzy”.
School isn’t happening for us around here yet. But there are BIG changes. Wonderful changes. Bittersweet changes. Changes that bring this little quote to mind.
His Timing
His Way
His Story
His Glory
Changes that bring Miss A to pray,
“Thank you that Aunt Jojo could have cake in the gym”....
Last night, we had the privilege to attend my sister’s commissioning service at our church. She is headed to Spain as a full time missionary.
I know this is the Lord’s will for her and I rejoice with her in that.
But there is the totally irrational, selfish, emotional side of me that wants to sob like a baby. I’m going to miss her. She’s been invaluable to us over the last 4 years.
I know she’s going to yell at me, but
THANK YOU!
Thank you for wiping boogers without freaking out ....too badly
Thank you for modeling a beautiful, Christ-like example for my blonde headed tornado.
Thank you for helping me look beyond my narrow mindedness and seeing things from a different perspective. A godly perspective
Thank you for washing my smelly dogs
And my dishes
And more boogers
Thank you for laughing with me when no one else finds the humor (Zelenograd)
Thank you for your desire to spread “His Story”
Thank you for living for “His Glory”
We love you!
We’ll miss you!
We’ll be praying
And, we will definitely be FaceTiming as often as possible.
